Areol Leonard: Lobster Chair, and a Hipster Office Space

I started following this crazy blog on Tumblr the other day. I came across it while posting on geno&nikki

I think that if Gumbie and Kanye West had a baby, it would be this guy.

But I like him, so he gets a chair.

Knowing that he is a Graphic Designer, I picture him clicking away on his Mac Book, listening to Cut Copy while simultaneously tearing deep-v's into his Hanes T-Shirts.

He's Hipster. He wouldn't "shop" for furniture, it would just appear in his house, all scandinavian and chic.

He's inspiring to say the least.

I'm glad I know him.

Chair Affair: Chairloom

When I saw this vintage club chair my jaw Literally hit the ground.

I didn't know something so perfect for my apartment could be so accessible.

Chairloom, one of the BEST chair resources I have ever seen.

This could quite literally be the giddiest I've been since middle school.

*I have been watching archived episodes of Parks and Recreation. on Hulu. Please attempt to read the above text in my best Chris Traeger voice.

And yes, when I said MY best Chris Traeger voice, I did not mean to say your Chris Traeger voice. Your voice would not make sense to me.

Chair Affair: Bean Bags, Not Just For Kids Anymore

The other day, while perusing a store I really didn’t really even need to be in I made the unfortunate decision of giving into their semi annual sale.

This minimalism thing is really kicking my but.

After spending approximately Twenty-Five dollars I walked out of the store and into my apartment with………

A giant Bean Bag chair…..

Seriously? What was I thinking? My apartment is a great size for Emma and I. I would even go as far as to say it is TOO big sometimes; but me, Emma, and this massive sack of beans?

Ooooopsie.

Not to mention that there is no cover. I could make one, but I am just not a fan of the whole DIY craft movement. Here’s my train of thought, you DIY your heart out, and then sell it to me on esty.

It works for me if it works for you!

Thanks in advance.

P.S. The photos are to inspire the use of beanbag chairs that don’t belong next to a bouncy house.
I want mine to look like one of these.

Art, Life, and the Pursuit of Chairs

"You can either get out and live your life,  Or you can stay huddled up in your apartment like a hermit, which do you choose?”

I looked her dead in the eye and responded, “But my apartment is so cute!”

This is pretty much the way I have lived my life since I was a child. My favorite pastimes included moving my room around and building forts houses in the back yard out of old sheets.  Space planning my Barbie dream house was not an option; it was a way of life.

Solitude, on the other hand, has been a hot topic since the early years. I was raised an only child and spent the majority of my time alone.  Now being an “adult” I find that I enjoy my alone time just as much if not more than when I was a child.

Are my social skills lacking? Maybe. But I think that interaction with people is overrated.  I mean seriously, if you are too afraid to call and order a pizza..Then you never eat pizza, Ergo, no pizza sticking to your ass......

Honestly, It’s a lose win situation, and I’m beating myself to a pulp.

So here I am… 20 something years later, sitting in the kitchen with my mother, wishing she could live my life for me. Take my chances for me, make everything easier. But she can’t,  and even if she could, she won’t.  She knows that my path can only be paved by me and no matter how much she wants me to figure it out, I must do it alone.

What  I plan to learn from this experiment, I’m not completely sure…I do know I hope to find out a little bit more about myself, and a load of awesome chairs.
